Kimberley School 2017 A-Level Results

Congratulations to all our A-Level students who have achieved outstanding results this year. 

Their results show significant improvements on the strong results from 2016 and are higher than national averages.   Nearly two-thirds of all grades achieved were A*-B grades and over 80% were A*-C grades.  Once again, there was a 100% pass rate.

The stunning headline achievements of the Year 13 students are as follows:

A*-A Grades –  41% (3% increase from 2016)

A*-B Grades – 60% (5% increase from 2016)

A* – C Grades – 84% (8% increase from 2016)

A*-E Grades – 100%

Average Point Score Per Entry – 35.57 (7 higher than 2016)

Average Grade:  B- (C in 2016)

Nationally the Average Point Score Per Entry in 2016 was 32.11 and the Average Grade was C+.

The Sixth Form Leadership Team will now work with students to finalise their university places or other plans for the future.  We are so proud of everyone’s achievements but there are some superb individual successes that are worthy of note:

Head Girl Megan Barnes gained a superb 2 A*s and an A and is off to Leeds University to study Geography whilst our Head Boy Oliver Marshall is also off to Leeds University with his Distinction*, A and B to study Environmental Science

Mary Traynor with an A*and 2 As has secured a place at the University of Nottingham to study History and Politics.  Paige Amos with 2A*s and a B is off to the University of Sheffield to study Law.  Jenny Banton with an A* and 2 As has secured a place at the University of Newcastle to study History and Archaeology.  Rose Franchi with 2 As and a B is off the University of Sheffield to study Psychology

Jasmine Mansouri gained 3 A grades thus securing a place to study Speech and Language therapy at De Montfort University.  Astral Annais-Brown gained an A* and 2 As to gain a place to study English Literature at the University of Newcastle.  Brogan Butler is also off to Newcastle University to study Medicine having gained 3 A grades.  Sahel Sadeghi also gained a superb 3 As and plans now to apply to also study Medicine.

 Abbie McColl is off to study Mathematics at Loughborough University with an A* an A and 2 Bs.  Lucy McAndrew gained 3 Distinction*s and Dillon Dewshi gained a Distinction* and 2 Distinctions enabling him to head to Northumbria University to study Marketing Management.  Tom Storer with a Distinction* an A grade, a B and  a C is off to Manchester to study Physiotherapy

Many other students have done very well and will shortly be departing to start degree courses at universities across the country in subjects as varied as; Primary Education, Nursing, Midwifery, Sociology, Economics, Civil Engineering, Health and Nutrition, Product Design, Politics, Marketing, Biochemistry, Criminology, Aerospace Engineering and Special Educational Needs Studies.  Other high achieving students are taking the apprenticeship route with, for instance, Boots and the NHS.
