The Pupil Premium funding is a term used to refer to the additional funding schools receive in respect of students who have been registered for free school meals during the last six years, looked after children for more than six months and children of service personnel. Schools receive this funding to support eligible students, to narrow the attainment gap between them and their peers, in order to ensure equity of opportunity and potential outcome.
